How the Heat Shield Works:

The Heat Shield – Super Spreader is an inverted V-shape of perforated metal which is fixed via the lamp-holder on your reflector. The inverted-V sits directly beneath the lamp where it disperses and spreads the light (and heat) which would normally shine straight downwards. The deflected light and heat are directed out sideways, which reduces the light and heat intensity underneath the lamp but increases the light intensity towards the edges of the grow-space.

How to Use the Heat Shield:

The Heat Shield – Super Spreader 250w-600w is designed for use with any HID lamp between 250 and 600 Watts. A larger alternative is available for use with 1000 Watt HID lamps. Ensure that your lamp is turned off before fitting the Heat Shield – Super Spreader. Clip the circular bracket around the lamp-holder on your reflector and then screw the Heat Shield to the bracket using the caged nuts and the screws provided. Adjust the Heat Shield so that the top edge of the inverted-V sits directly underneath your lamp and then tighten the fixing screws. Once the Heat Shield is securely fitted your lamp can be switched back on. It will now be possible to hang your reflector closer to your plants without burning them.
